Lately I’ve become interested in the construction of the essay. I want to know more about the essay. How it works. How it serves as a means of exploring the world. How it can help me make meaning of my own life and form a larger understanding of the world. I’ve been writing mostly personal essays. But over time I intend to explore essays that explore many various subjects. I have yet to figure out what this will be.
In the meantime, here’s a recent CNF piece from me – a personal essay/flash memoir from earliest childhood. This is a sort of hybrid, experimental piece and I’m not sure it works or fails… it is more of a kluge – an assmeblage of parts to create a workable, perhaps short term solution. I’m still experimenting.
